<salam alikom> Some will say its because they think they are all rich and want relief from poverty. Although this may be true in some cases, iv'e heard that they acualy like the "white" skin and "light hair" and american culture. i just wana know what maranaos'S opinion about that?? |

 well dos are pinays but definitely not meranaos.. khit nga ung other tribes even they are muslim too hndi pde how much more pa ibang breeding??!!hehheheh as i know muslims are allowed to marry anyone as long as that person is also a muslim but in our culture(mranao) DEFINITLY NOT ALOWED!!!!!!! kung makaya mo pang mgpakasal na imbowang ka o pamilya nga..ipmayamayaw ka iran..get me?? but that's our culture and we cant change it. maybe we can pero hndi tlga uubra atah ei(dont even think of changing it pakamomorka kon a tigo mga lokes).. bt ive also herd that muslims are allowed to marry a christian(ung christian dw nong unang panahon pa not now)??i donot know..correct me please if im wrong..

dude, really? as in noong long time ago pwd mag asawa ung muslim ng christian? maybe because at that time, hnd pa strong ung belief nila in islam kaya they just label themselves as muslims without following all the islamic rules, beliefs and practices.. alam mo un.. as of now nman, there are still a lot of muslims na ganon.. they would call themselves muslims pero they don't perform even one of the 5 pillars of islam. so sad..
kaya ako Prince Gian pa rin choice ko..hahaha!!! (mamanti na mranao a preference iyan..) hahaha!!
pero kung naging maranao lang c Prince Gian..hmm..secret..hahaha!!

yes it's ok but its not recommended. you have to convert first your christian to be wife if not... its haram i think. i'm sure with one thing, muslim men alowed to marry christian women, but not the reverse, that's what islam says>

right dude.. althought islam alowd that,but i still think that muslim shuld not marry christians women. cuz its cuases alot of problems in future, specially on kids. |

we're getting far from the topic of this thread..
but anyway..yeah foenix822..it really causes troubles to the kids because other people (pure blood) would sometimes discriminate them coz they're half blood or not pure blood. (just like in harry potter..haha!!)

one of many reasons why Meranao rejects non-meranao o "saruwang" or mistiza "half-meranao" is the culture of the other. Meranao is more keen on close family-ties while non-meranao like bisaya o tagalog "filipino" is not. Non-meranao believes in contrary to Meranao culture and tradition thus it cause problem. May ugali tlaga ang mga saruwang na hindi talaga accepted. i believe Meranao is the most conservative of all Moros and this is the reason why the centuries old culture and tradition is still practice now and preserve. Meranao is clannish.
