bygone days
The articles reminds me of a long and renowned woman in her era that cannot be ignored by the fact that Princess Tarhata Lucman created her name thru her unconditional effort in bringing the maranao people and merging them with the mainstream of the Filipino people. Her vision was strengthened so solidly when the late Sultan Lucman joined her lifetime journey. This ideal couple who, aside from being a member of the so called " Royal Family" in the Philippines, initiated a lot of sacrifices both financially, emotionally and politically just to make to emphasize the pride and a long range plan for the maranao people to be alleviated in all aspects of life not to mention their being so religious.

I was on my first semester in the Mindanao State University when Martial Law was declared. Hencerforth, the task of running after those who did not subscribe with the military rule started so rapidly that thousands of innocent but principled filipinos were either missing, jailed and/or died.Yes, those were bygone days but the remnant of the past is, somehow, became a legend, if not a lesson that every Maranao to be specific, should and must take a strong and heartfelt consideration... ahlieh.
