More than 30 Muslims passed the 2007 bar examinations with one making history  in entering the top ten . Al-shwaid L.  Ismael  from a provincial law school, University of Cebu landed in the eighth , garnering a rating of 85.65 %.

No list of Muslim topnotchers is readily available but only a few have attained the distinction, among them Prof. Gafar Lutian of Jolo who placed 7th in the 1991 Bar examinations.

GENERAL SANTOS CITY (MindaNews/23 December) -- The Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) thanked the leadership of the Moro National Liberation Front for warning the MILF negotiating panel to "be cautious and not be deceived by 'language engineering' in dealing with the government" in the ongoing GRP-MILF peace talks.

ALABEL, Sarangani (MindaNews/23 December) – Some 50 young Moro leaders from across the islands of Mindanao, Basilan, Sulu and Tawi-Tawi called on the Moro National Liberation Front and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front to unite in their quest to achieve self-determination of the Bangsamoro people.
