More than 30 Muslims passed the 2007 bar examinations with one making history in entering the top ten . Al-shwaid L. Ismael from a provincial law school, University of Cebu landed in the eighth , garnering a rating of 85.65 %.

Sittie Kabira was crowned Sultan in Sulu in the 17th century, her territory having entered treaties with colonizing spice-hunters. Rajah Potri , wife of Rajah Buayan’s Datu Utto, was believed to have been de facto Sultan of Maguindanao between 1888 and 1901, when there was a dispute between Spain and Maguindanao. Lanao Sur and Marawi elections are the most controversial, the frauds committed having been exposed before Senate and Congressional hearings. No election officer has yet been jailed. Those names stated in the GARCI tapes are still in their electoral posts. No reforms yet being done. Prospective congressional, gubernatiorial, and mayoralty candidates next year have still to mobilize millions of pesos for buying votes.

In 2005, we visited Camp Karingal to verify report of more than 100 Muslim women under detention for various crimes. The report was confirmed. More than 90% of the Sisters are facing charges under R.A. NO. 9165 otherwise known as “The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. The rest of the Sisters are charged with cases involving Estafa, homicide and other minor offenses. I saw the need of some intervention to remedy the sufferings of the Sisters inside the detention center
